·2 min readFollowing the vibrant debut of “Asa Papa”, virtual youth band Vezsel Music returns with a powerful new anthem titled “Africa fi YAH”, meaning “Africa is for (belongs to) Yahweh” — a stirring declaration of divine identity, belonging and spiritual purpose.
Blending energetic Dancehall rhythms with a deeply Afro-spiritual message, Africa fi YAH is the second release from the band’s upcoming EP, “Joy in the Morning.” The song is both a celebration and a call-to-action, urging African youth to rise up boldly for Christ and take their place as beloved children of the Most High King.
With lyrics in rhythmic Patois, English, Pijin English and Twi, the song channels resilience, joy, and deep spiritual conviction. From the upbeat hook “Stand up, stand up and rise up… Cush fi di Most High King,” to declarations like “Africa is for God, we’re not an afterthought,” the message is clear: Africa’s destiny is rooted in Yahweh, and the continent’s youth have a divine mandate to shine.
Vezsel Music, created by SYBS’ House, is more than a band — it’s a mission. Formed as part of a creative discipleship movement led by Nana Afriyah Frimpong, the group brings together talented virtual youth from across Africa and the diaspora, aged 8 to 17. Through varying creative arts, SYBS’ House aims to equip teens and pre-teens with Christlike Character, Creative Competence, and a deep sense of belonging.
Following the joy-filled tone of their first single, “Africa fi YAH” takes things deeper — affirming identity, purpose, and hope with every beat. It’s a song for every African youth navigating a chaotic world with courage and faith.
“Africa Fi YAH” is now available on all major streaming platforms. Be sure to stream Africa Fi YAH to support the Vezsel Music Cause.
